Press Release: Visa liberalisation for Moldova

On the 14 March 2014, the European Union at the Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council meeting, following the the result of the amendments to the regulation No 539/2001 which the Council approved, decided that the Citizens of the Republic of Moldova possessing biometric passports will be able to travel to and throughout the Schengen area without a visa.

The European Parliament gave its green light to the amendments on 27 February 2014.
