Rajoy keeps his course

Major features analyses the first year of the government of Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy in Spain. The year had seen the economy worsen, unemployment grow and protests spread. But the Prime Minister showed no sign of wavering from the course he has chosen of dealing with the economic crisis facing Spain.

Mr Rajoy asked Spaniards for their 'comprehension and solidarity' on the 28 December 2012 while his government continued to implement painful reforms to deal with the grueling economic crisis.
