Report on competitiveness in low-growth and low-income regions

The European Commission published on 11 April 2017 a report on those regions across the European Union presenting low levels of growth and wealth.

The document unveils strategies to support regional growth with the assistance of EU cohesion funds. It also assesses what supports and hinders competitiveness of those regions and why they had not reached the expected levels of growth and income.

This report was published in the framework of an initiative launched by the Commission in June 2015 to examine the factors that hold back growth and investment in the low-income and low-growth EU region.
