EurActiv reported Romanian Justice Minister Cătălin Predoiu saying in Brussels in January 2012 that his country had made unprecedented efforts to reform its law enforcement system and suggesting that Bucharest wanted to see the EU monitoring mechanism put in place five years previously removed by the summer of 2012.
