Poland's Foreign Minister said on 21 February 2017 he considered the issue of the state of rule of law in the country a 'closed' case.

Witold Waszczykowski stated a detailed response had been submitted on the previous day to the recommendations issued by the European Commission amid concerns over sweeping legal changes introduced by the Polish government.

He added that this vision was shared by many politicians across Europe.
