Russia and the European Union have reached agreement on terms for the country’s entry into the World Trade Organisation, the two parties said on the 24 November 2010, putting Moscow on track to join the bloc by the end of 2011.

The bilateral agreement was expected to be formally unveiled at an EU-Russia summit on 7 December 2010, and came close on the heels of a similar WTO-related pact Moscow sealed with Washington in September 2010.
