Salah Abdeslam charged with ‘terrorist murder’ in Paris attacks

Salah Abdeslam, the prime suspect in the November 2015 terrorist attack in Paris was captured in a dramatic raid by armed police in the Belgian capital of Brussels on the 18 March 2016. French President François Hollande said France would seek his extradition.

Belgium's federal prosecutor's office said on the 19 March 2016 that Salah Abdeslam had been charged with participation in terrorist murder and the activities of a terrorist group.

Abdeslam was believed to have fled shortly after the Paris attacks, returning to the Molenbeek district of Brussels.
