Speech: Getting youth on the right path to bridge the skills gap – Launch of McKinsey Report on ‘Education to Employment: Getting Europe’s Youth into Work’

Text of a speech by Androulla Vassiliou, Member of the European Commission for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, at the launch of McKinsey Report on 'Education to Employment: Getting Europe's Youth into Work', in the Bruegel institute in Brussels, on 13 January 2014.

The report suggests that a lack of skills relevant to the workplace is one of the main reasons why young French and other Europeans are failing to find jobs, leading to creation of a "disillusioned" generation.
