Statement: Joint Statement by Commissioners Malmström and Hogan ahead of the 10th WTO Ministerial Conference in Nairobi / WTO delivers ground-breaking deal for development

Preview and reports from the 10th World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference in Nairobi – 15-18 December 2015. The European Commissioner for Trade, Cecilia Malmström, and the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Phil Hogan, attended the conference for the EU.

The 10th WTO Ministerial Conference (MC10) marked the 20th anniversary of the organisation and was the first to be held in Africa. It was a decisive crossroads for the multilateral rules-based trading system – the Conference was expected to set the direction for future WTO work and negotiations.
