Counterfeiting of medical products and related crime threaten the life and the health of individuals. The phenomenon is spreading on a global scale, no country is spared. To combat this, the Council of Europe has drawn up an international convention – the MEDICRIME Convention – a legally binding instrument criminalising all acts of counterfeiting of medical products. Designed to protect the public health, MEDICRIME introduces criminal sanctions and measures for the protection of the victims. |
