Turkey hopeful on Armenia border

Turkey and its neighbour Armenia have moved closer to establishing diplomatic ties in September 2009 after decades of bitter mistrust on both sides.

Subsequently, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his country would sign a deal to establish diplomatic relations with Armenia on 10 October 2009.
