Turkish police detained over alleged plot to topple Erdoğan government

A third wave of arrests took place in Turkey on the 1 September 2014, in which 32 police officers were detained on charges of having engaged in activities against the government.

The raids were part of a crackdown on what the new President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, described as a 'parallel state' seeking to topple his government.
