Ukraine, one of the world’s top grain exporters, said on the 11 August 2010 that it was considering a cap on wheat exports, a move that would put added pressure on already surging global grain prices.

The announcement comes nearly a week after Russia, the world’s third largest exporter, introduced a ban on grain exports until the end of 2010 after the worst drought in a century devastated the country’s crops.
