The JRC is a Directorate-General of the European Commission under the responsibility of Tibor Navracsics, Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth & Sport. Its Board of Governors assists and advises the Director-General on matters relating to the role and the scientific, technical and financial management of the JRC.

Comprised of strategy and coordination, knowledge production, knowledge management and support directorates, the JRC is spread across six sites (Brussels, Geel, Ispra, Karlsruhe, Petten and Seville) in five different countries within the EU.

The Science Hub brings together scientific knowledge produced by the Joint Research Centre, the science and knowledge service of the European Commission. It is the platform for information and exchange about all scientific activities carried out by the JRC and by our institutes across Europe.
