Why Brexit should not stop UK cities from competing for European Capital of Culture

Summary:

In a letter sent to the United Kingdom government in November 2017 the European Commission said that in the light of the UK leaving the EU in 2019 it would not be possible for UK cities to participate in the action. The selection process whereby a number of UK cities were competing to be selected to become the European Capital City of Culture in 2023 should be stopped.
