Article reports that Europe is heading towards an increasingly divisive row over moves by the German government to insulate its partially privatised postal monopoly, Deutsche Post, from competition by imposing a sector-wide minimum wage. On the 6 December 2007 the Dutch government reacted to the German move – which disadvantages its own TNT – by announcing that it was postponing the planned 1 January 2008 liberalisation of its postal market in retaliation. |
