Communicating on the EU

On 30 March 2001, the Swedish Presidency organised a seminar to stimulate discussion on, and gain ideas and views on ways in which one can reach a wider general public as concerns issues relating to the future of the Union. The participants consisted of representatives from EU institutions, Member States and candidate countries, journalists and “think-tanks”. The speakers came from different backgrounds and positions but everyone was agreed that it was important to get a debate going.
