The Professional Chamber, the 35-strong 'professional' wing of the Enterprise Policy Group (EPG), met in Brussels for the first time on 11 June 2001. The EPG (whose other wing is made up of Member States' Directors-General for industry and small business) advises the Commission on policy options for achieving the Enterprise Europe goal, set at the March 2000 Lisbon European Council, of becoming the world's most dynamic knowledge-based economy, capable of sustainable growth, of creating more and better jobs and of achieving greater social cohesion. |
