The European Commission has launched a 3-month consultation (to 15 September 2001) of business stakeholders in order to identify remaining obstacles to the free movement of goods in the EU, and to explore how best to adapt regulatory tools to innovation and technological change. The challenges of introducing the Euro, the prospect of EU enlargement, the advance of the e-economy, fast changing markets and new technologies, together with the goal of making Europe the world's most dynamic economy by 2010, make it necessary to assess the current regulatory situation in the EU. The survey will use the Interactive Policy Making Mechanism (IP/01/519). |
