Press Release: Commission proposing to revitalise energy co-operation with the developing countries

The European Commission published a Communication on energy co-operation with the developing countries, 'The EU Energy Initiative' on 17 July 2002. The Communication analyses the energy situation of the developing countries and ways of revitalising energy co-operation between them and the European Union. 'The EU Energy Initative' will be presented at the United Nations Johannesburg Summit on Sustainable Development which begins on 26 August 2002.
