The European Commission decided on 25 July 2002 to bring an action before the Court of Justice against seven Member States (Germany, Spain, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria and the United Kingdom) for failure to notify it of measures transposing into their national law Directive 1999/42/EC on the recognition of professional qualification for certain industrial, commercial and craft occupations, such as electricians, itinerant tradesmen, tilers and hairdressers. |
