Nato ‘needs reforms’ to survive

The Nato alliance could disintegrate if European governments do not increase their spending on defence, the (UK) House of Commons Defence Select Committee has said in a report 'The future of NATO' issued on the 31 July 2002.. It warns that the gap between US and European military capabilities must be narrowed.
