EU shrugs off US farm policy example

Despite the approval of a new fam bill in the United States that will increase subsidies to US farmers, the European Commission will not be diverted from planned reforms to its own farm subsidy regime. The Commission admits, however, that the new US policy will complicate its task of persuading opponents of reform to agree meaningful changes to the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
