Court ruling has the potential to sway result of Turkey’s elections

Turkey's highest court, the Constitutional Court, was due to rule on 1 November 2002 on whether Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the leader of the party leading the polls should step down two days before the Turkish Parliamentary election on 3 November 2002.
