EU urged to set up an audit watchdog

The accounting profession's European representative body, the Féderation des Experts Comptables Européens (FEE), wants a European Co-ordination Audit Oversight Board (ECAOB) as part of an effort to avoid business scandals such as have occurred in the United States. Such a board could provide a forum for discussions with the new US accounting regulator, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.
