EUROPEAN Liberals today (29 April) formally launch their campaign for the European elections in June with jobs, combating crime and the environment topping its agenda.

A recent study by the London School of Economics suggested the Liberal group will hold the balance of power between the Left and Right in the European Parliament after the election and they are keen to use this potential pivotal position to work for a "freer, just and tolerant" Europe.

Graham Watson, leader of the Liberal group in the European Parliament, will tell an election rally at Brussels Airport today that the Liberals have helped steer through several pieces of key legislation in the past five years, including "setting the pace" in the liberalization of Europe's financial services market.
