The Cannes Festival and the European Commission are organising, for the second consecutive year, a Europe Day which will bring together more than 20 of the 25 EU Culture Ministers and eminent professionals to discuss the European dimension in the teaching of film-making and the difficulties in making the transition from learning to actually making films for the first time. On 18 May 2004, Viviane Reding will present the European Union's 'New Talent' Prize, which is awarded to a young professional for a feature-length film made as part of a MEDIA training project. In addition, 11 films supported by the MEDIA programme are included in the various Cannes selections for 2004. |
