Sarkozy launches re-election campaign

Nicolas Sarkozy, the French President, formally launched his re-election campaign on the 15 February 2012. Citing profound changes in the global economy, Mr Sarkozy said he would champion further reforms to make the country competitive.

The two-round French presidential election takes place on 22 April and 6 May 2012.
