Press Release: GALILEO: the Commission proposes the transition to the deployment and operational phases

The European Commission adopted a communication on 6 October 2004 on moving to the deployment and operational phases of the European satellite radionavigation system. On the basis of the conclusions of this document, at the end of 2004 the Council is to take the political decisions needed to launch these two phases concerning, in particular, funding and the definition of the services. In its communication, the Commission comes to the conclusion that the conditions are now met for launching the GALILEO programme.
