European directives ‘could undermine plans for more efficient capital markets’

The Securities Industry Association (SIA) warned on 27 January 2004 that plans to create deeper and more efficient European capital markets could be undermined by two proposed European directives - the Transparency Directive and the Investment Services Directive (ISD).
