Article reports on the plans for a new building to house the Council of the European Union, to be erected next to the Résidence Palace. According to the plans, ministers were scheduled to meet from 2012 within a giant jar-shaped structure housed within a cube of wood and glass. The construction was said to cost €160 million and was to be overseen by an international team of architects and engineers. The winning design was chosen by an international jury from a shortlist of 25 applications. |
