A survey of eGovernment services prepared for the European Commission found that EU citizens were saving 7 million hours a year on the time it took to do their income tax returns, and EU firms were saving about €10 per transaction on their VAT returns by doing them on line. Moreover, there was still huge scope for further savings. |
