Medical and healthcare staff around the world will soon receive better guidance for treating drug users with HIV/AIDS and hepatitis, thanks to agreements reached in June 2005 at two meetings co-hosted in Lisbon by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the EU drugs agency (EMCDDA).
