Press Release: More aid on the way for Tsunami victims

In order to deliver on the commitments made by its President in January 2005, the European Commission on 27 April 2005 proposed €98 million in an amending budget and €180 million in the proposed budget for 2006 to help countries affected by the Tsunami in the Indian Ocean. The €278 million were meant to help the reconstruction of Asian Tsunami affected regions.
