Using a safety clause of the Schengen Agreement, France has reimposed border controls with its European Union neighbours. This action has been taken as a result of the terrorist bombings in London on 7 July 2005 and was announced by Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy after an extraordinary Justice and Home Affairs Council in Brussels on 13 July 2005. |
