Following the terrorist bombs in London on 7 July 2005 Franco Frattini, European Commissioner for Justice, Freedom and Security, said the Commission would discuss, on 13 July 2005, further measures in the fight against terrorism; in particular a proposal for a terrorism related rapid response mechanism, enabling the EU to respond more efficiently and in a co-ordinated way to terrorist attacks. |
