The EU has once again voiced its “concern” about the state of democracy in Slovakia

in a presidency statement declaring that new laws approved by the Slovakian parliament to protect the state against defamation and anti-constitutional activities “appear to affect the freedom of expression and other democratic rights”. The statement called for “solutions” to be found in accordance with democratic principles.
