Date: 29/02/1996 Life is more peaceful at the Commission delegation office in Ankara following discussions with prayer leaders at a nearby mosque. During recent Ramadan rituals, loudspeakers conveyed the words of the mullahs to the masses beyond the doors - rather too loudly for the comfortable conduct of Euro-business within the mission. Delicate diplomatic negotiations were entered into, and now the volume has been lowered sufficiently for a return to Euro-serenity.
