A deal to end the dispute between MEPs and member state governments over the revised Television Without Frontiers Directive

was struck at a meeting between the two sides yesterday (16 April). Under the accord, EU countries will recognise each other's lists of special events which should be made available to all television viewers and a decision on whether V-chips should be fitted to sets will be delayed while a report is drawn up by the Commission.
