Watch out, there's another perk attack on the horizon.

The Commission's personnel supremo Erkki Liikanen has his eye not just on the annual allocation of duty-free booze that staff are entitled to order, but also the Economat, the special shop where fonctionnaires pick up their groceries at tasty prices.

Ironically, the perks which are now in the firing line were highlighted by a Euro MP in the same week that the European Parliament voted against a motion to clamp down on its own generous travel and living expenses.
