It's all change at the French permanent representation in Brussels after the general election.

The hand of Premier Lionel Jospin has reached out and shuffled the pack with a whole series of appointments to Paris.

Ecofin counsellor François Villeroy de Galhau has been catapulted from Council of Ministers' working groups to become directeur de cabinet to Finance, Economic and Industry Minister Dominique Strauss-Kahn.

Pierre Sellal, the deputy permanent representative who left for Paris a month before the Jospin triumph, has become directeur de cabinet to Foreign Minister Hubert Vedrine and has taken Christian Masset - a Mediterranean policy specialist - with him.

Jean-Michel Casa, who worked on summit preparation at the mission, is now running the office of Pierre Moscovici, the new European affairs minister, while Florence Mangin, who worked on ambassadorial meetings, and social affairs negotiator Eric Aubry have been slotted into the Hôtel Matignon as advisers.
