told the European Parliament this week that his country would resist Commission moves to force it to lift a national ban on imports of genetically-modified maize. Lahure said the Grand Duchy was considering contesting the decision in the European Court of Justice. This follows similar comments from his Austrian counterparts after the Commission ruled against the ban two weeks ago. If the court option failed, Lahure said he would push for compulsory labelling of all GM-maize imports into Luxembourg.
