over the fate of detained Kurdish Workers' Party leader Abdullah Ocalan. Italy's Foreign Minister Lamberto Dini, speaking after a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Ismail Cem this week, said the international community agreed that Ocalan should be tried before a pan-national court tribunal, although it had not yet been decided where the trial should take place. In the meantime, the two sides agreed to let Italian law take its course and to consult further in a “spirit of friendship”.
