Date: 16/07/1998 The title of Coreper doyen, awarded to the longest-serving EU ambassador, is set to remain in Benelux hands. With the recent departure of Luxembourg's Jean-Jacques Kasel, the honour now passes to Bernard Bot, the Netherlands' top man in Brussels. Before Kasel, the title was held by former Belgian ambassador to the EU Philippe de Schoutheete. |
