They said that discussions between the two sides in Brussels last week had been useful in exploring ways to end long-standing disagreements about which products were eligible for special trade concessions offered to Palestinian-made goods.

But they warned that a comprehensive solution was still a long way off, despite Israel's agreement to recognise the EU's free trade accord with the Palestinian National Authority.
