Date: 15/10/1998 will have to decide whether to take up a plan for a Union-wide public works scheme which has been suggested by French Prime Minister Lionel Jospin, European Commission President Jacques Santer said yesterday (14 October). “I will be very curious to see their reaction,” he told journalists. Santer was speaking after a meeting with Jospin in Brussels. The Commission proposed a similar plan in 1993, but nothing came of it on that occasion. |
