Date: 02/07/1998 British Conservative MEP Robert Sturdy was recently shocked to discover that he had apparently spent the past four years working in Brussels under false pretences. At least this was the impression he got when attending a presentation on voting patterns in the EU organised by public relations firm Adamson Associates. According to a map prepared by Adamson showing the results of the 1994 Euro-elections, Sturdy's Cambridgeshire constituency was won by the Labour Party. βI was rather disheartened to find that Conservative blue was not used to shade my constituency ... My area is scandalously depicted in brazen Labour red,β pointed out the miffed MEP in a hastily composed letter to the PR company. βIn the light of the fact that we are entering an election year I would appreciate it if you could amend your report.β |
