EU-US Agreement. The EU and US signed a science and technology agreement at the EU-US Summit in Washington on 5 December 1997. Running for an initial period of five years, it will help promote, develop and facilitate co-operative R&D activities for mutual benefit, and covers virtually all areas of the natural sciences and engineering.
