in several European countries. “For the moment it seems Coca-Cola has the situation firmly in hand,” said a spokesman for Acting Consumer Affairs Commissioner Emma Bonino. The Commission issued a warning to all EU countries this week after Coca-Cola beverages were taken off shop shelves in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. The health scare was prompted by reports that 100 Belgian school children had fallen ill after drinking Coke products.
