Bowing to strong pressure from the UK and France, Germany has decided to delay the phase-out of nuclear power in the country

After talks between government and industry, German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder announced that reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel by British and French firms would continue until alternatives are found.
